Question 1

What type of decking is best for beachfront resorts?

Accepted Answer

For beachfront resorts, we recommend our SaltShield Marine Grade WPC decking for any area within 200m of the shoreline. It resists salt spray corrosion and maintains slip resistance in wet conditions. For pool decks and interior courtyards further from the water, ProShield 360 Capped Composite provides superior aesthetics and color retention.

Question 2

Can composite decking be used for marina docks and floating platforms?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our marine-grade composite decking is extensively used on marina walkways, floating dock surfaces, and yacht club piers. The material's low thermal expansion prevents buckling in direct sun, and its hollow chamber design facilitates drainage. We recommend 316 marine-grade stainless fasteners for all saltwater applications.

Question 3

Is composite decking suitable for high-traffic commercial boardwalks?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Our Commercial Heavy-Duty solid core boards are engineered for 1,000+ kg/m² load capacity and are used on municipal boardwalks in Sydney, public plazas in Singapore, and shopping center promenades. The boards meet ADA slip compliance and Class B1 fire rating requirements.

Question 4

What maintenance is required for composite decking in commercial applications?

Accepted Answer

Composite decking requires significantly less maintenance than natural wood. Routine cleaning with soap and water is sufficient for most applications. We recommend pressure washing (max 1,500 PSI) annually for high-traffic areas. Unlike wood, composite decking never needs sanding, staining, or sealing — reducing lifetime ownership costs by 60-70%.
